Steak & Potato

Training has been really hard these past weeks, Kane and I have been pushing it hard. I don't think there is any better feeling than waking up and getting out of bed and your legs hurt like hell for the next 2 days!

It was my birthday on the 25th so we flew out on the 26th for Brittany's house for my 2nd birthday of the week! We left home and it was pretty cool and when we got here it was humid and hot, and I got swamp ass as soon as I got off the plane haha.

Iv been hearing about this really fun Pro-Am called the Steak and Potato race for a few years now, and its really close to my girlfriends house, and this year it was in Lexington, SC. I have to say this is one of the best tracks in the country. The facilities are amazing and so are the people. So if your ever in the area its a must ride!

So the way the race worked is that everyone signed up has a time trial and you get to pick from there who you want to race based on where you finished in the TT. That's a cool way to work it for everyone because you pick who you want to race so its as fair as it can be. No matter where you finished up, after the race you get to munch down on a juicy steak! So I think everyone is a winner!

There was 51 people signed up so that meant we had 1/4s. Moto's were pretty chill, Kane and myself picked the same moto, so it was cruise control the whole time. After the motos everybody that had made it through went up and picked who they wanted to race in the 1/4s and so on until the main.

In the main you pick gates in order based again on your TT. I took a safe lap in the TT and qualified 9th. I thought that was the smartest thing to do since if you made the main you could see who picked what gate. It paid off and there was gates 1 and 3 left open. I was last to pick so I got in gate 3.

I think in the main the random start maxed out on the longest pause haha felt like it took forever! I had a good 1st straight and won the $50 holeshot award and myself and Upshaw had a good battle! I ended up with the win at the line.
